Windows 10 build 19592 is the twelfth Insider Preview build of Manganese, the 20H2 development semester of Windows as a service. This build was released to Windows Insiders in the Fast Ring on 25 March 2020.
Changes[edit | edit source]
- The tablet posture improvements for 2-in-1 convertible PCs that rolled out as an experiment to Windows Insiders starting with May 2020 Update build 18970 and ending in build 19013 was reintroduced starting with this build.
- The Windows Search Platform indexer was updated with improved logic to help the system find more suitable times for indexing of the PC's files and avoid heavy indexing while the computer was being used. An improvement was made to significantly limit the amount of time that the service spends on indexing the files whose content isn't useful that doesn't have an impact on search experiences.
Bugs[edit | edit source]
- The BattlEye anti-cheat software has some incompatibility issues due to changes in the operating system between some Insider Preview builds and certain versions.
- The update process to this build has a chance of hanging for extended periods of time.
- At the time of this build's release, some devices had a chance of encountering a green screen of death error during the reboot to install the build. If it happened, the solution was to log in, schedule a specific time for the build to install, and then log off all user accounts before the scheduled installation time. If those steps were performed correctly, the installation would proceed as expected without any crashes.
- The documents section in the privacy settings has a broken icon, and as such, a rectangle shows in its place.
- If you're attempting to use the ⊞ Win+PrtScn keyboard shortcut to take a screenshot, the image is not saved to the Screenshots folder. To take a screenshot, you have to use a different method of taking them, such as pressing ⊞ Win+⇧ Shift+S .
- Sticky Notes windows can't be moved around on the desktop. To workaround this bug, set focus to the app, and then press Alt+Space. After that action is performed, select the Move option on the menu that appears. This will allow the window to be moved around with either the arrow keys or the mouse.
- At the time of this build's release, some Windows Insiders received driver compatibility warnings when they attempted to update to this build in certain virtual environments.
- App icons on the taskbar can sometimes encounter rendering issues, including defaulting to the
.exe
icon. - The battery icon on the lock screen is always showing levels that are close to empty, regardless of the actual battery levels.
- If updating to this build from an older one, the IIS configuration will be reverted back to their default values. The IIS configuration should be backed up prior to installation and then after this build is installed, the configuration can be restored back to the desired custom settings.
- Webcams do not function correctly when attempting to make a video call using the Microsoft Teams app. When the aforementioned app is being used through a browser, the webcam is unaffected.
