Windows 10 build 18999 is the thirty-second Insider Preview build of Windows 10 May 2020 Update. This build was released to Windows Insiders in the Fast Ring on 8 October 2019.

New features[edit | edit source]

  • The ability to move and resize Cortana's window was made available to all Windows Insiders starting with this build, however, it wasn't possible in a clean installation until the next build.
  • A new feature was added to the Your Phone app, Calls. As the name implies, it can be used to answer phone calls on the PC, initiate them from using the in-app dialer or contact list, decline them with custom text or send them directly to your phone’s voicemail, access the recent call history on the PC, (clicking on an entry will make the number appear on the phone screen), as well as the ability to seamlessly transfer them between the PC and the phone.

Bugs[edit | edit source]

  • Older versions of anti-cheat software for games can cause the PC to crash with a green screen of death.
  • Shutting down or restarting sometimes doesn't work with this build. If this happens, use the physical button to forcibly shut it down or restart it. If you are using a virtual machine, do these actions from the VM settings.
  • If a Surface device is being used, Bluetooth devices may not reconnect as expected after closing the Surface's lid. To workaround this, either toggle Bluetooth off and then back on again via the Settings app or reboot the device.
