New features and changes[edit | edit source]
- Further improvements to the precision touchpad experience. A new "other gestures" page is introduced to the Touchpad page in the Devices section of the Settings app. Highlights in this page include basic customization options for three and four finger gestures. For taps, either Cortana, Action Center, play/pause or the middle mouse button can be selected. For left/right swipes, you can select between either switching apps or switching virtual desktops.
- Along with the aforementioned changes, an "Advanced gesture configuration" page has also been added to the Touchpad settings page. It can be accessed via a link at the bottom of said page. Highlights include hooking gestures up for the previous/next song, creating or deleting virtual desktops, and snapping windows. In addition, the Touchpad settings page was also updated to include reference diagrams to remind the user of what to expect when a three or four finger swipe is executed in a particular direction.
- Updated the Wi-Fi settings page. A time can be selected to turn the Wi-Fi back on automatically after the amount of time selected. It is set to Manually by default.
Bugs[edit | edit source]
OOBE[edit | edit source]
This build has a buggy OOBE. To bypass it, press ⇧ Shift+F10 to open Command Prompt, open Registry Editor, then navigate to the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\OOBE
and create a new DWORD here called SkipMachineOOBE
and set its value to 1. Then go to the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup\State
and set the ImageState
value from IMAGE_STATE_UNDEPLOYABLE to IMAGE_STAGE_COMPLETE. After that, open lusrmgr.msc
to create a new user by navigating to the Users option on the left pane, right-clicking "New User...", and typing your desired user name into the "User name" box. Make sure you untick "User must change password at next logon". After the user account is created, right click on it and click on the "Member Of" tab on the dialog that appears. Then click add. On the dialog box that appears, type "Administrators" into the text field that appears and click "Check Names". Then close out of lusrmgr.msc
and then restart by typing shutdown /r
.
Other bugs[edit | edit source]
- If a third-party antivirus app is present on the PC, the update may not complete and will rollback to the previous build as a result.
- Larger Windows Store games such as ReCore, Gears of War 4, Forza Horizon 3, Killer Instinct and Rise of the Tomb Raider may fail to launch.
- PCs that are capable of Connected Standby such as the Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 may crash while in Connected Standby.
