New features[edit | edit source]
- Microsoft Edge now has extension support, as well as the ability to pin tabs.
- Microsoft Edge now has a "Paste and go" option on its address bar context menu. This option pastes the selected URL into the address bar, and instantly navigates to the site. You can also copy a selection of words into the clipboard, and then select "Paste and search".
- An updated Maps app, the new features include one-tap access to search and directions, the ability to view multiple searches and directions at the same time, and on the same map as they're layered on top of each other, and you can use tabs or the map to switch between them. You can now also minimize the search results, directions and the location info, as well as labels for your search results on the map. Cortana can also give the user directions if enabled. The logic for nearby searches was improved. The ability to search for the user's favorite city in the 3D cities list was added. The user can also access their favorites offline and add notes to them. The turn-by-turn design was updated.
- You can now choose a one-handed kana touch keyboard for Japanese text typing.
- Updated the Japanese lined-mode Text Input Canvas.
- Combined the Insider Hub and Windows Feedback apps into Feedback Hub.
Bugs[edit | edit source]
- Some Surface Pro 3, Surface Pro 4, and Surface Book devices can experience a hang or freeze. This results in all input from the keyboard, trackpad and the touch screen to not register. A workaround is to hold down the power button to force the device to do a hard reboot.
- The system may freeze if you use plug in an Xbox One or Xbox 360 or any other gamepad in this build.
- If you use Hyper-V and have a Virtual Switch configured for the network adapter, you may see a red X on the network icon. This error is false and the network will continue to function as normal.
- Due to an OS reliability issue, some apps can randomly crash.
