Windows 10 build 14279 is the eighth Insider Preview build of Windows 10 Anniversary Update. This build was released to Windows Insiders in the Fast Ring on 4 March 2016.
New features[edit | edit source]
- Cortana now has support for the Mexican Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese and Canadian French languages.
- You can now save reminders in Cortana.
- Predictions and candidates improvements in the Japanese IME.
- Sway integration in the Photos app.
Bugs[edit | edit source]
- Some Surface Pro 3, Surface Pro 4, and Surface Book devices can experience a hang or freeze. This results in all input from the keyboard, trackpad and the touch screen to not register. A workaround is to hold down the power button to force the device to do a hard reboot.
- Some PCs running this build can either freeze or crash with a blue screen of death when resuming from hibernation. The workaround on the affected PCs is to disable hibernation.
- Using the option "always show all icons in the notification area" can glitch out the layout of the system tray.
- Due to an OS reliability issue, some apps can randomly crash.
- Connectivity to some WiFi networks using the WEP encryption security method may be broken in this build. A workaround is to configure the WiFi routers to use WPA or WPA2.
