Please see Guidelines § Things to avoid, mentions that a build is the "first XXX build" should be avoided because they're misleading and false, and usually also unnecessary. --Ryuzaki (talk | contribs) 20:31, 14 February 2025 (UTC)
- Why is it false? It is clearly first on the list. And some pages feature it and some don't already. Newuserpl2 (talk) 20:32, 14 February 2025 (UTC)
- However for example windows 8.1 build 9255 page has it Newuserpl2 (talk) 20:34, 14 February 2025 (UTC)
- It is first on the list of known builds, doesn't necessary mean there are no builds before it --Ryuzaki (talk | contribs) 20:35, 14 February 2025 (UTC)
- However like I said some pages say "earliest build of", is that wording allowed? Newuserpl2 (talk) 20:37, 14 February 2025 (UTC)
- That's to builds which are the earliest known or the earliest available of a version of Windows Slovensky2000 (talk) 20:38, 14 February 2025 (UTC)
- Saying something like "is the earliest currently known build of X" is fine in most cases. Mainnn (talk) 20:38, 14 February 2025 (UTC)
- So if I put "earliest known Milestone 2 build of Windows 8.1" that would be fine? Newuserpl2 (talk) 20:38, 14 February 2025 (UTC)
- I am pretty sure they say "earliest known build" or "earliest available build" and I think it's unnecessary for completely random builds like 9353. Only add it if the build is historically significant in some way. --Ryuzaki (talk | contribs) 20:39, 14 February 2025 (UTC)

- Mass edits like this are of low value and are not worth it. If they were really this significant, it would have been automated to the hundreds of build pages with a bot action. Doing them yourself only gives the impression of increasing your edit count. --ANightly (talk) 20:41, 14 February 2025 (UTC)

- Please sign your comments with --~~~~. Anyway, I said it would give the impression of doing so, presumably to get certain status on the wiki, regardless of whether or not this is your intention. --ANightly (talk) 20:45, 14 February 2025 (UTC)
- The -- is needed? TIL --Slovensky2000 (talk) 20:46, 14 February 2025 (UTC)

Again, if it's a build that's the earliest known/available of a version of Windows it should be fine Slovensky2000 (talk) 20:43, 14 February 2025 (UTC)
