Removing content from pages[edit source]
It would be better if you wouldn't remove the BetaWorld blog links just because they shut it down. Instead, you can replace them with archived links from the Wayback Machine. - Bob2204

- The pages have not been archived and also I don't quite understand why you are linking to pages that are no longer available? BetaWorld have stated that they have closed their blog as well as their homepage forever, so I don't understand your decision. (And yes, immediately throw in the block for 2 hours, and not immediately write me messages, this is very "smart" on the part of the administration.) captainlinux8880 (talk) 20:19, 29 June 2023 (UTC)
- Then why don't you discuss this on the Admin noticeboard or the Community portal? -

Stop Meaningless Edits[edit source]
This is your very last warning before you get blocked indefinitely. You have chosen to continue with the low-quality edits despite being warned before and again in your final warning. The next time I (or any other staff member) see a low-quality edit from you, you will be blocked. This is not a threat and please do not treat it as such, you should have been blocked ages ago as the result of ignoring your final warning, so we reserve the right to block you at any time.
If you really do have to make small changes (eg: to fix spelling/grammar mistakes or broken references/links), please mark them as minor. I (and most likely everyone else) would prefer to have a way to filter them out. --Lucas Brooks (talk) 11:07, 11 March 2024 (UTC)
- What are "meaningless edits"? Any minor changes I will mark accordingly. Cosmetic minor changes are not meaningless, especially since they are marked as small in order to filter them out. Thanks and regards! captainlinux8880 (talk) 11:12, 11 March 2024 (UTC)
And instead of (again) threatening a ban, you could write something like: "Tag some edits as minor", but you again decided to go the same way. And if you were more attentive, you would notice that lately, I have been more likely to mark edits as minor. captainlinux8880 (talk) 11:18, 11 March 2024 (UTC)
- You should really read the guidelines. Whitespace changes and
File:
removals are considered meaningless, so you shouldn't make them at all, regardless of whether you mark them as minor. Your template changes are meaningless too, yet you didn't mark them as minor (again, minor or not, they're useless). I'm not here to argue with you, I'm not here to threaten you, you have violated our guidelines and ignored our warnings, so I'm here to state the fact that you will be banned for your next offense. --Lucas Brooks (talk) 11:27, 11 March 2024 (UTC)

- You can write a list of what is "minor" here. There is no need to write files with the "File:" prefix, so I delete them. But since this happens on the main edit field, this edit was not marked as minor. Any changes outside the template are usually not minor. If the user is unsure whether an edit is minor or not, it is always safer to not mark it as minor. captainlinux8880 (talk) 11:33, 11 March 2024 (UTC)
- Sadly you're not the one who decides what to do here. Since we do not have a definition of what is considered as minor and what is not, common sense is required, and you listen to what we say. Simple as that. We do not want to see your edits flooding our recent changes page, so drop these meaningless edits now and listen to the guidelines (which explicitly states that

- If you don't have a definition for what is and isn't minor, why not discuss it? I'm going off of what I've seen on other wikis. The rules are identical. captainlinux8880 (talk) 11:51, 11 March 2024 (UTC)
- And yes, I did not claim that I was deciding anything here. Regards, captainlinux8880 (talk) 11:53, 11 March 2024 (UTC)
- BTW, changes in templates concerned mainly only the addition of the corresponding category to the page, because on some templates the category was present, but on others it was absent. captainlinux8880 (talk) 11:38, 11 March 2024 (UTC)
- You should put the category into
<noinclude></noinclude>
, because it will exclude the category when the template is transcluded, otherwise it will show the Templates category. —— Preceding SIGNED comment added by insomnia {{ talk • contribs • email me }} | 12:17, 11 March 2024 (UTC)- That's what I did, lmao. A little somthing i would like to say...[edit source]
I dont think every thing needs a fancy template. It is just a waste of time. Regular code would be fine, and an majority of users wuold use code any ways. Degrader (talk) 02:39, 31 March 2024 (UTC)
Block[edit source]
Given that you have ignored our rules again despite your very last warning, you have been blocked. I've just picked 3 of your recent edits as evidence:
- https://betawiki.net/index.php?title=Windows_Longhorn_build_4074&type=revision&diff=323038&oldid=321994
- https://betawiki.net/index.php?title=Windows_8_build_8888_(win8_gdr_soc_intel)&diff=prev&oldid=324509

- Reduced the block to one month. I think both of you need to calm down here. It's quite ridiculous to give an indefinite block for cosmetic edits, however I do agree that some of captainlinux8880's edits are indeed disruptive enough to warrant action, especially considering past offences. --Ryuzaki (talk | contribs) 10:39, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
