Talk:Windows 8 build 8064
The unlocked screenshots recently leaked[edit source]
It is a known fact that builds from fbl_eeap of this range for Windows 8 have all code for turning on redpill hardcoded to be disabled and/or stripped out from binaries. It is as a consequence likely that the pictures shown are a result of a modification to the build. However it is notable that this build does seem to feature the green accent from build 8102, along with a slightly darker variant of the 8102 user account picture. We can also notice the updated window border theme, something which is not gated by redpill code, as the code responsible to show the alternative resources if redpill is present is backed to uDWM.dll. Should we keep those screenshots or not? Gus33000 (talk) 12:12, 9 July 2020 (UTC)
- dont know, try asking applegame12345i. As for the redpill thing, you are saying that redlock wont work on it? BenjiMadden7850 (talk) 12:15, 9 July 2020 (UTC)
- Yes absolutely, running redlock on it will effectively change nothing on stock untouched binaries. Also notice it says test mode in the watermark, indicating signature enforcement is off, most likely to load modified binaries like, explorer.exe for example. Gus33000 (talk) 12:21, 9 July 2020 (UTC)
- in other words, that means if you redlock this build, it would do absoutely nothing whatsoever and you will still have the windows 7 interface like in other un-redpilled builds? I also saw that test mode thing, maybe this will be examined once this build leaks. BenjiMadden7850 (talk) 12:24, 9 July 2020 (UTC)
