Talk:Windows 8 build 7792

I think this build can be spotted in this video. I'm not 100% sure though, since the linked video is very blurry. (Edit: Pretty sure the screen rotation thing was 8090) TechActivate 781 (talk) 19:22, 25 April 2024 (UTC)

Location of build[edit source]

According to the page (as of writing), the entirety of build 7792 has been "uploaded".

However, when checking the Internet Archive for the full build, none was found. I also checked through all of the software published on the 13th of August.

Does a link exist, or is it currently not available to the public? If so, the page should be edited to reflect that.

Would it be a good idea to add it to the wiki or would that be dangerous? Kooper (talk) 20:11, 15 August 2024 (UTC)

Is software rendering already implemented in DWM as of this build?[edit source]

I know DWM's software 3D rasterizer was implemented in x86 builds around build 7880, but I noticed that, on first logon (Personalized Settings), or when explorer crashes or gets killed, the wallpaper is not there, much like on newer builds. This doesn't happen on 7, which doesn't support software-based DWM. So, does this mean there may be a way to force software rendering on this build? AlfCraft07 14:47, 5 September 2024 (UTC)

Nope, that change is not related to DWM, but to a new Wallpaper Host introduced around the time of this build 109.243.0.78 16:10, 5 September 2024 (UTC)

Oh, I didn't know that. But still, was that change already made as of this build, or do we just have no hope of having working Aero? AlfCraft07 06:33, 6 September 2024 (UTC)
