Prohibited builds
Due to the large amount of of builds coming from certain sources, the following builds that originate from the following aren't sufficient for BetaWiki's scope:
* Variants of a retail build sourced from an original equipment manufacturer (OEM). The only exceptions are those featuring significant changes, such as being available in a different architecture than what was available in retail (usually non-IBM PC compatibles).
* Updated revisions of RTM builds obtained through the Windows Update service. The only exceptions are update builds with major interface, kernel/build number, and/or application changes.
* Builds where their build number is sourced from GitHub repositories or issue logs (including those sourced from the Windows Terminal repository)
* Builds where their build number comes from a
compliance.ini
,
cversion.ini
, or
AppxManifest.xml
file
* Builds where their build number or buildtag comes from stock registry hives in other builds
* Cumulative update builds of beta builds, particularly from Windows 10 and above
