Palm webOS is an embedded open-source operating system. Based on the Linux kernel, it was intended for smartphones, internet tablets, and smart home appliances from Palm (prior to the HP acquisition of Palm).

It was originally developed by Palm and released on 8 January 2009, under the name Palm webOS. From 2010 to 2012, it was supported and developed by Hewlett-Packard, due to HP purchasing Palm. It was then bought by LG in February 2013 and is currently the main OS for most LG TVs produced since 2015.
