OPENSTEP for Mach 4.2 is the last version of NeXTSTEP, released in January 1997, one month after the announcement of the acquisition of NeXT by Apple in December 1996.
Various patches were available for this release all the way until 1999, when Apple replaced OPENSTEP for Mach with Mac OS X Server 1.0.
