Mac OS X Tiger build 8A428 is the official RTM build of Mac OS X Tiger. This build shipped on DVDs and multi-part CDs but was only compiled for PowerPC processors (Intel Macs had not yet been announced at the time).
The xnu build for 8A428 is Darwin Kernel Version 8.0.0: Sat Mar 26 14:15:22 PST 2005; root:xnu-792.obj~1
Setup[edit | edit source]
Although setup in general hasn't received major uplifts, the language selection has received a huge uplift - coming up as a box with language options rather than a part of the setup application itself, and excluding the macOS toolbar. The toolbar has also received a quite large uplift - the disk utility was separated from Installer and is now in a separate tab called Utilities. Inside Utilites is a bunch of other utilites, including the following:
- Startup Disk
- Reset Password
- Terminal
- System Profiler
- Network Utility
The disk utility has also received minor uplifts, including an information button.
The Out-of-box experience has received a few uplifts, including an option for hearing instructions and the option to transfer files from a previous Mac.
