Mac OS 8.0b2 is a beta build of Mac OS 8. It was distributed to testers residing in Germany in August 1997, and is therefore only available in the German language. It is called „Mac OS D1-8.0“ in About This Computer.
This build is specific in that it was intended to be used for demonstration purposes, as evidenced by the presence of watermarks found across various surfaces within the operating system reminding the user not to distribute or sell the build to other individuals.[a]
