Linux Mint 2.1 (codenamed Bea) is a version of Linux Mint, released on 20 December 2006. It still uses the same kernel and GNOME versions as Linux Mint 2.0.

By this point, all name references were updated to Linux Mint. The computer and home icons are now available on the desktop. Furthermore, the icons on the top panel have been replaced by Network, Tomboy Notes, and Search, while the volume icon is moved to the right, replacing the power icon. It is the first version to introduce the startup and shutdown sounds used in versions of Linux Mint up to 21.
