Linux Mint 17 is a version of Linux Mint, which was released to the public on 31 May 2014. It is based on Ubuntu 14.04.

This release updates Cinnamon to version 2.2, and updates the Update Manager. It adds a new Language Settings application. Driver Manager was updated to include the ability to install drivers without an internet connection. It also updates the first login window to not use webkit, increasing performance. Settings was updated to be more consistent, and Hot Corners were improved to have better settings. As with Linux Mint 16 and Linux Mint 15, this release inherits the boot screen from Linux Mint 8, without the flashing logo. However, this is the last version of Linux Mint to include it as the boot screen would be changed once again in Linux Mint 18.

This is the last version of Linux Mint to use the wallpaper from Linux Mint 11.
