iOS 18.3 build 22D5055b is the official Beta 3 release of iOS 18.3, which was released to Apple developers and public beta testers on 16 January 2025.[1]

New features and changes[edit | edit source]

Notification Summaries[edit | edit source]

The following changes have been made in response to complaints regarding the Notification Summaries feature:

  • Summaries for apps in the News and Entertainment category have been temporarily disabled.[2]
  • Summarized notifications are now shown with italicized text to distinguish them from standard notifications.
  • Wording in the Settings app has been updated to clarify that this is a beta feature and that errors are a possibility.
  • During setup, the following text has been added: "Summarization may change the meaning of the original headlines. Double check important information."
  • Notification Summaries can now be disabled on a per-app basis directly from the Lock Screen.

Miscellaneous[edit | edit source]

  • Apple Intelligence is now enabled automatically for supported devices.
  • In the Messages app, the ability to access the Genmoji creation interface has been added to the "+" menu.
  • A warning is now displayed when cropping a PDF file through the screenshot interface. It informs the user that cropped content is still present in the file and can still be viewed in some apps.
  • On the iPhone 16 series, the Camera Control option for AE/AF lock has been renamed to "Lock Focus and Exposure".
