iOS 17.5 build 21F5048f is the official Beta 1 release of iOS 17.5, which was released to Apple developers on 2 April 2024, then to public beta testers a few days later.[1][2]
New features and changes[edit | edit source]
- In the Books app, a new indicator for the user's reading goals has been added next to their icon.
- The 'Quartiles' word game has been added for Apple News+ subscribers.[3]
- The Podcasts widget will now be color matched to the episode currently being played.[4]
- The "Details" widget for the Weather app has been adjusted to have a slightly smaller font.
- An icon has been added for the "Passkey Access for Web Browsers" page in the Settings app.
- Mobile Device Management solutions can now enforce an iOS beta version during Automated Device Enrollment.
Findings[edit | edit source]
- Strings for third-party item tracker alerts have been found in this build. These alerts would formally be introduced as Cross-Platform Tracking Detection in the RTM build.
- References to a battery health menu for iPad devices has been found in this build. It would later become available on M2 iPad Air and M4 iPad Pro models.
- Code suggests that users will soon be able to block all participants in a group FaceTime call.
