iOS 16.6 build 20G5026e is the official Beta 1 release of iOS 16.6, which was released to Apple developers on 19 May 2023, then to public beta testers a few days later.[1][2]

Findings[edit | edit source]

This build seemingly lays the groundwork for the Contact Key Verification feature for iMessage, suggesting its inclusion in a future version of iOS.[3] This feature would later be implemented in iOS 17.2 Beta 1.
