iOS 16.1 build 20B5056e is the official Beta 3 release of iOS 16.1, which was released to Apple developers on 27 September 2022, then to public beta testers on the next day.[1][2] It is also the Beta 4 release of iPadOS 16.1.
New features and changes[edit | edit source]
- Wallpaper sets can now be switched directly from the Settings app.[3]
- Stage Manager on iPadOS is now available for A12X and A12Z devices.
- External display support for Stage Manager has been removed. It would be re-added in iOS 16.2 Beta 1.
- A new toggle has been added to the App Store that allows apps to automatically download in-app content before the user opens it for the first time.[4]
- The dedicated Matter Accessories page in the Settings app has been removed.
