iOS 16.1 build 20B5045d is the official Beta 1 release of iOS 16.1, which was released to Apple developers on 14 September 2022, then to public beta testers on the next day.[1][2] It is also the Beta 2 release of iPadOS 16.1.[3]
New features and changes[edit | edit source]
- Clean Energy Charging has been added, which will reduce the user's carbon footprint by selectively charging their device when lower carbon emission electricity is available.
- The battery percentage indicator, which was reintroduced in iOS 16.0 Beta 5, is now available for the iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 12 mini, and iPhone 13 mini.
- There is now an option to directly edit the Home Screen from the "Customize" menu.
- Reachability will now change the position of the Dynamic Island on iPhone 14 Pro models.
- iCloud Shared Photo Library has been re-added.
- The Live Activities API has been re-added.
- It is now possible to delete the Wallet app.
- An option to “Allow finding by friends" has been added to Game Center.
- The save menu in the screenshot UI has been updated.
- Improvements have been made to Stage Manager on iPadOS.
- Options to manage Matter supported devices have been added to the Settings app.
