Devuan is a Debian-based Linux distribution that uses Sysvinit, runit, or OpenRC instead of systemd. The distribution was created as a response to Debian phasing out "legacy" init systems in favor of systemd with Debian 8, where systemd is treated as an invasive lock-in init system by the Devuan community. It was first released on 25 May 2017.
