Arch Linux is a text mode Linux distribution, albeit a desktop manager can be installed. The package manager is called pacman (not to be confused with the famous game). Unlike Debian and derivatives, Arch Linux uses a "rolling release" system.
Unlike most Linux distributions, Arch does not have any (CLI or GUI) installer by default and requires the user to manually install it from the command line. The default interface is CLI after install,so a GUI must be installed manually. Therefore it's not exactly a user-friendly distribution.
