Apple Rhapsody 1.0 was the home "premier" release of the Apple Rhapsody operating system. This version was planned for release in 1998, but was scrapped due to negative reception from software developers due to the requirement of needing to rewrite applications under the Cocoa layer, with minimal support for legacy Mac OS applications.

Components from this release's i386 version, such as the login screen and boot image resources, can be found in the contents of the first Mac OS X developer preview and within the Darwin v0.3 SDK. Several comments from files found within Developer Preview 1 indicate that most of the build's components are dated 11 March 1999, suggesting that this build of Rhapsody was still being recompiled internally.
