Screenshots of a late unidentified Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 Essentials build were included as part of an announcement for the aforementioned operating system.[1]
The operating system at this point in development still included references to the Breckenridge codename (as observed within the available screenshots of this build's Dashboard), implying that branding had not been finalized until very late into the development cycle. Prior to the announcement, information surrounding the Breckenridge project was very limited with the only references to it being a mention of its codename, found within a privacy statement located on the now-defunct Microsoft Connect website.[2]
