Windows Server build 17093 is the seventh Insider Preview build of Windows Server, version 1803. It was released on 13 February 2018.
- When you set the password before the first log-in, you will encounter an error saying "The remote procedure call failed". The password is still accepted as normal.
- Upgrading to this build from a previous build may make the setup stall at 88% percent for 45 or more minutes before being completed. This is due to it loading the individual registry hives for each driver.
- When BitLocker is enabled and the OS is started, it prompts the user for BitLocker's PIN. Typing in the correct PIN will result in the system saying it is incorrect, but typing in the PIN a second time will make the system accept it.
- If Hypervisor Code Integrity (HVCI) is enabled, some systems may be affected with a bug that causes the OS to fail to start. On the systems affected, the UEFI firmware thinks that the UEFI runtime services are located in memory as Memory-Mapped I/O (MMIO).
- Running Insider versions of Nano Server containers on a host that uses Windows Server Core will fail and could crash the host. A workaround is to add "
—isolation=hyperv
" when running or building the containers such as the syntax "docker run –isolation=hyperv microsoft/nanoserver-insider"
.
- Active Directory domains may not upgrade correctly.
- If you test the Windows core, it may fail because of a timeout while attempting to load the test libraries.
