Release notes

Windows Server 2003 build 3763 is now available for download!

We are pleased to announce that Windows Server 2003 interim build 3763 is now available for download. Please download, install and provide feedback as soon as possible. This download is currently available from our Redmond download location. Other download locations will become available when the content finishes replicating to those servers

The following product images are available for download from http://windowsbeta.microsoft.com/ (Not all testers have access to all products listed below)

  • Standard Server
  • Web Server
  • Enterprise Server
  • Enterprise Server Checked (debug) version for developers
  • Enterprise Server 64 bit Edition
  • Enterprise Server 64 bit Edition Checked (debug) version for developers

Before you begin, please note the following:

  • This build contains a new security feature: "Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration":
This new feature is enabled by default and is designed to reduce the risk of attack from insecure Web-based content. However, it may also prevent Web sites from displaying correctly and restrict access to network resources. For more information, see the online documentation which is available by simply opening a browser window. Once you have installed the build, please see the WindowsBeta F.A.Q. for information on how to download from WindowsBeta using builds 3757 and later.
  • You may upgrade to this build from a released version of Windows 2000 or from Windows .NET Server 2003 RC1 or later interim build. However, a beta or RC build upgrade does not represent a real customer scenario, so we are much more interested in feedback that represents a real world installation scenario such as upgrade from Windows 2000 or clean install.
  • Windows Server 2003 requires activation 14 days after installation. This release is a time-limited release and will expire 360 days after activation.
  • Windows Server 2003 interim builds are not recommended for production systems unless you are explicitly working with Microsoft on deployment programs. Due to the nature of pre-release software, some of your applications and hardware may not function correctly.

How to Download:

Please see http://windowsbeta.microsoft.com/download/howto.asp for full instructions on how to use the File Transfer Manager to download files from WindowsBeta. Please note, the new features of the FTM detailed on this page. Builds will not be made available via FTP. All files are currently available from all download locations.
