Windows Me build 2465 is a pre-Beta 3 build of Windows Me. This build was first mentioned in Paul Thurrott's "The Road to Gold: The development of Windows Me" article, where it is stated it was released to testers on 11 February 2000.[1] KenOath also had this build and a disc scan of the CD is available. It was leaked on 27 January 2020 by ReflectiaX.[2]
This build now has an updated setup interface that resembles the RTM and now features the final Windows ME boot screen.
Neptune reference[edit | edit source]
A total of 8 files with the version number 5.50.5116.1 were found in this Millennium build, but it is unknown whether this Neptune build ever existed.
Some speculate this would've been a Milestone 2 build. It would've been compiled someday after 11 December 1999, meaning it would be one of the last Neptune builds before the Neptune project was canceled in January 2000.
