Windows 2000 build 1816 is a beta 2 build of Windows 2000. This build is listed in the Fate 621 warez CD list,[1] and was later uploaded on 23 June 2024. Despite having a higher build number than build 1814, it was compiled over a week before it. This is the last build that displays kernel mode messages in text fallback mode instead of graphics mode when the /noguiboot option is enabled and to display system crash messages on the boot screen.

Note:
After installing this version, upon reboot you may get an error about
Java packages. Also you may get some errors in control panel the first time
you select an icon. It will work the second time. These are normal as
the browser in this build is a beta version of IE5 and isn't totally
complete yet. Things still seem to function normally after ignoring the
errors.
Also THIS IS STILL NOT BETA 2 regarless of what the splash screen says.
Just remember that. This does seem to be a fairly stable build so far
though.

The progress bar shown when the system is hibernating does not fill up the entire bar. Instead, a text-mode message appears in the top left corner saying State saved, power off the system.
