Windows 11 build 26074 is a scrapped insider preview candidate build of Windows 11 2024 Update, which was originally released to Microsoft partners participating in the Ecosystem Engineering Access Program (EEAP) on 7 March 2024.[1] It was publicly shared on 20 November 2024 along with its release notes.

A new option has been added for choosing to apply selected action (skip or replace) for all conflicts when extracting files in File Explorer.

File Explorer[edit | edit source]
- Fixed an underlying issue that was causing File Explorer to free and unexpected high CPU usage.
- Fixed an issue where preference for "Show extracted files when complete" when extracting files in File Explorer wasn't persisting across upgrades.
- Fixed a timing issue where when starting a search from the Home page, it might unexpectedly show no results the in the first time.
- Fixed an issue that was causing the Details view to be unexpectedly cramped when using compact mode.
- Addressed an issue where when opening File Explorer after a DWM crash, it could just show a blank area on top instead of rendering the area correctly.

- Fixed a memory leak related to showing the tooltip for the date and time in the taskbar when additional clocks are enabled.
- Fixed an issue where turning the Copilot icon off and back on would cause it to not show on the taskbar again.

- Fixed an issue that was causing the Settings app to crash when clicking the "Display Connection" section that was incorrectly showing up under Display > Graphics.
- Fixed an issue where a brightness slider might not show in System > Display.

- Fixed an issue that was causing the input switcher (⊞ Win+Space) to be reverted back to Windows 8/10 design and draw in the wrong location.
- Fixed an issue where DWM could hang when writing with pen in Snipping Tool.

Fixed an issue that was causing the GPU under the Performance page to show as -1.

- Client-side anti-cheat game services may fail to work properly due to internal structure changes within this build.
- Upgrading to this build may fail with a
SYSTEM_PTE_MISUSE
bugcheck and a0xC1900101
error code. - The
sudo pwsh
command may not work properly.
Shell[edit | edit source]
- Text on highlighted items in Microsoft Management Console and some of its snap-ins may have a yellow color.
- Acrylic effect on modern context menu may not render correctly.
- The mouse cursor may disappear in certain cases.
