New features and changes[edit | edit source]

Shell[edit | edit source]

The list of quick actions under Quick Settings has been updated to show as a scrollable view, which can be rearranged directly using drag and drop. The "Edit quick settings" button and the ability to unpin quick actions have also been removed. These changes are only available to a subset of users, but can be activated by enabling the 39593188 velocity staging key.

Settings[edit | edit source]

  • The System Components subpage under the System page, initially implemented in build 25926, has been rolled out to all users.
  • The Optional features subpage under the Apps page has been moved to the System page.
  • A comfirmation prompt dialog will appear the first time an app attempts to access the device's location or Wi-Fi information. This dialog is configuable via the "Notify when apps request location" toggle button under Privacy & security > Location.

Miscellaneous[edit | edit source]

  • The Segoe UI Emoji font has been updated to version 1.45, which includes new emoji characters based on the Unicode Emoji 15.1 standard.
  • Cortana, the intelligent virtual assistant that was introduced in Windows 10, has reached end of support and will be removed after upgrading to this build.[1]
