Windows 10 build 17758.1 is the thirty-second Insider Preview build of Windows 10 October 2018 Update. This build was released to Windows Insiders in the Fast Ring on 11 September 2018, then to Slow Ring users on 14 September 2018.
Changes[edit | edit source]
- Storage Sense now has the capability to automatically free up disk space by making older, unused, locally available files be available online-only.
- This build contains the infamous Microsoft Edge dialog box that can appear when installing an alternative browser on this build.[1] Due to negative reception, it was removed in build 17760.[2]
- General changes, improvements, and bug fixes listed in the official release announcement.
Bugs[edit | edit source]
- Narrator sometimes does not read in the Settings app when it is being navigated using the Tab ↹ and arrow keys. To fix this issue, turn on Narrator's Scan Mode temporarily, and then turn Scan Mode back off. If this is done, Narrator now correctly reads the content in Settings when you navigate it by using the Tab ↹ and arrow keys.
- Apps that use the .NET Framework version 4.7.1 don't work correctly on this build. To fix this problem, either change the affected app's app config to list 4.7.2 instead of 4.7.1 or change/add the following registry keys:
For x86 and x64:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\.NETFramework\v4.0.30319\SKUs\.NETFramework,Version=v4.7.1
For x64 only:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\.NETFramework\v4.0.30319\SKUs\.NETFramework,Version=v4.7.1
