Changes[edit | edit source]
- You can now adjust how bright SDR content appears when running on HDR mode on the desktop. If the system is HDR compatible, there will be a slider in the “HDR and advanced color settings” page located under Settings -> System -> Display.
- A new "Cursor, pointer and touch feedback" section has been added to the Ease of Access section in the Settings app. The options to change the mouse cursor's thickness, the pointer size and the "show visual feedback around the touch pointer when I touch the screen" options are present here.
- Added the ability to shape-write (swiping with your fingers to type) on the wide layout touch keyboard.
- Updated the insertion gesture (to add space between words or letters) on the handwriting panel.
- Added a new gesture to automatically enter your desired text and clear out the text in the handwriting panel.
- Improved the button layout for Simplified Chinese handwriting. The buttons are hidden by default in this mode, select the button with the ellipsis to expand it.
Hidden features[edit | edit source]
Floating Cortana window[edit | edit source]
- This build includes a floating window for Cortana that is disabled by default. To activate it, open Registry Editor, navigate to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Search\Flighting
, create a new key called "Override", once that key is created, make a new DWORD value and label itImmersiveSearch
and set its value to 1. Reboot afterwards. To see the floating Cortana window, right-click on the taskbar, hover the mouse to the Cortana option, and then select "Show Cortana icon" on the submenu that appears. After that, click on the Cortana icon on the taskbar.
Bugs[edit | edit source]
- VPNs that use custom pop-up windows during connection attempts may fail to connect with error 720.
- You may not receive all of your notifications from Cortana.
- The Properties dialog for This PC does not work on this build and it can't be opened from the right-click menu.
- If certain third-party antivirus are installed on the system, and OneDrive Files on Demand is enabled, an error may occur stating that “OneDrive cannot connect to Windows”.
