Windows 10 build 16199 is the seventh Insider Preview build of Windows 10 Fall Creators Update. This build was released to Windows Insiders in the Fast Ring on 17 May 2017.

New features and changes[edit | edit source]

When you receive an emoji from a pinned contact, they now appear and animate on the taskbar.
If you have unread messages from a pinned contact, they display a small counter on the lower-right of their icon.
You can drag and drop files directly onto contacts to create an email, and share directly to the selected contacts via the share picker by choosing from a list of recommended people to email.
Added some new settings related to gaming. These include the ability to broadcast only the game's audio to Beam as opposed to the audio for the entire computer, and renamed the audio settings page under the settings in Game bar to be "Game DVR". Per-app audio settings are also included here as well, and added a non-functional "Game Monitor" Settings page.
Added a PC health section to Settings -> System -> About.
Added tips and videos in the Settings app. (requires internet connection)
You can now choose to automatically clean up files that have been left in the Downloads folder for 30 days. To enable it, navigate to Settings -> System -> Storage, and then click on “Change how we free up space” and then toggle the third option.
Updated Narrator, so that when you press ⇪ Caps Lock+E+E while its running, it launches Feedback Hub.

Bugs[edit | edit source]

If you're using a Surface Pro 3 or Surface 3 device, you can't update to this build unless you remove the SD card.
Outlook 2016 may freeze on launch due to an issue where the spam filter gets stuck reading the Outlook Data File and the UI waits indefinitely for it to return.
Sometimes Microsoft Edge will fail to open PDF files, erroring out with “Couldn`t open PDF. Something is keeping this PDF from opening”.
You can't type the password to login to UWP apps.
Games such as Civilization VI may fail to launch on this build.
Windows Mixed Reality does not work on this build.
The choice command will fail when run in a Command Prompt script.
