Windows 10 build 16179 is the third Insider Preview build of Windows 10 Fall Creators Update. This build was released to Windows Insiders in the Fast Ring on 19 April 2017.
Changes[edit | edit source]
- Added a snapshot option in Hyper-V.
- Extended the timebomb to 4 December 2017.
Bugs[edit | edit source]
- Double-clicking on the Windows Defender icon in the notification area does not open Windows Defender. Right-clicking on the icon and choosing open will open Windows Defender
- If using a Surface Pro 3 or Surface 3 device, the system can't be updated to this build unless the SD card was removed.
- Pressing F12 to open the developer tools in Microsoft Edge while it is open and focused may not return focus to the tab F12 is opened against.
- Selecting items listed in Windows Ink Workspace's Recently used section will crash and restart
explorer.exe. - The candidate window may not appear if you're using Chinese IMEs, such as Traditional Chinese Changjie, Quick IME or the Simplified Chinese IMEs if you are typing in certain apps. If the spacebar is pressed, the first candidate will be finalized. The number keys will not finalize any other candidate. If the candidate required is not the first one, entering the desired text into an app where the candidate window appears, such as Notepad is required.
- Navigating to Settings, then to Update & security, and then going to the Windows Update section has a chance of crashing the Settings app.
- On some Win32 apps, the Save dialog is broken.
- Localized apps on x64 localized versions of this build don't work.
