- Various bug fixes and improvements, which are detailed in the release announcement.
Bugs[edit | edit source]
- Some machines would fail to update to this build with a
SYSTEM_PTE_MISUSE
BSOD. - Creating an account in build 15031 will cause apps and games to crash due to a misconfiguration of an advertising ID. To fix this bug, open Registry Editor, navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\AdvertisingInfo
and delete theAdvertisingInfo
key. - There's a chance that some of the built-in UWP apps can fail to launch. If this happens, navigate to Settings -> Apps -> Apps & features -> Store -> Advanced Options, and then reset the app that's not working.
- The restart reminder dialog doesn't pop up to see if a restart is required after downloading an update. Navigate to Settings -> Update & security -> Windows Update and check to see if a restart is required.
- Issues may occur when browsing pages using the F12 developer tools on pages with cross-origin iframes.
- Pressing F12 to open the developer tools in Microsoft Edge while it is open and focused may not return focus to the tab F12 is opened against.
- To upgrade to this build using a Surface Pro 3 or Surface 3 device, the user is required to remove the SD card.
