New features and changes[edit | edit source]

  • Improvements to Cortana. The user now has the ability to play any song from their entire Groove Music Catalog using Cortana. They also have the ability to set a timer as well.
  • Updated Sticky Notes. The user can now use Cortana to set a reminder from their notes. They can also type or write a phone number and it will call their phone, insert an email address so it opens their email. Typing or writing a URL here will automatically open Microsoft Edge.
  • The Windows Ink ruler now has a compass and is longer.
  • Various improvements to Windows Ink.
  • Improvements to the Windows Game Bar.
  • Feedback Hub now shows Microsoft responses.
  • Added Limited Period Scanning.
  • Upgrading from the Pro to Enterprise SKUs doesn't require the OS to be reinstalled anymore.

Bugs and quirks[edit | edit source]

  • Extensions that you previously installed in Microsoft Edge may not work for around 15 minutes after your first sign-in. A workaround is to manually reinstall each extension from the Windows Store.
  • Sometimes the new Cortana features may not work unless you reboot.
  • Using the keyboard to navigate in certain Store apps does not work.
  • Doing a back and forward swipe may cause a gray bar to show up on the left side of web pages in Microsoft Edge. This can also happen if you right-click and then left-click or when you scroll with the scroll wheel on your mouse. A workaround is to resize the browser window.
  • Certain websites fail to render in Microsoft Edge. It is due to a bug in a recently implemented feature call, TCP Fast Open. The workaround for this bug is to turn off TCP Fast Open by typing in the following in Command Prompt as an admin: reg add “HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings” /v EnableTcpFastOpen /t reg_dword /d 0.
