Windows 10 Mobile build 14977 is the ninth Insider Preview build of Windows 10 Mobile Creators Update, which was released to Windows Insiders in the Fast Ring on 1 December 2016.[1] It's available as an update from an existing version of Windows 10 Mobile and as delta packages for builds 14965.1001 and 14975.[2]
New features and changes[edit | edit source]
EPUB support has been added in Microsoft Edge. Unprotected e-books will have a customizable reading experience with the ability to change the font, text size and color scheme. The ability to create bookmarks is also available. It is possible to navigate through the e-book via the table of contents or seek bar, or search for specific phrases and use Cortana to define selected words.

Other improvements and fixes[edit | edit source]
- The Windows.UI.Composition API is now used across UWP apps in the OS.
- Alarms set by third party applications will now activate even when Quiet Hours is on.
- The top-level option to disable alarms on the lock screen has been removed, due to users accidentally enabling it. The option is still available in per-app notification settings.
- Notifications from Settings can now be customized or disabled.
- OAuth is available for Yahoo Mail accounts.
- Disconnecting and reconnecting a wired headset while watching a video will now no longer cause audio to stop working.
- Music apps will no longer stop after playing a single song
- Closing a tab in Microsoft Edge, exiting the app and then relaunching it will no longer cause it to open to a blank page with the previously closed tab's URL.
- The Start Settings page will now render while using Continuum.
- Some translations have been improved, for example the "Don't Forget!" text in the French language will no longer have a grammatical error, and the button to clear the Chinese IME's input history in the Chinese language will no longer be in English.
- Checking the notification center immediately after booting the phone while the option to show notification on the lock screen was disabled will no longer cause notifications to not show up after the phone is unlocked.
- The Camera app will now properly appear after using the hardware button while the screen is off or on the Glance screen.
- The Bangla (Bangladesh) keyboard text prediction will no longer stop working after entering a character followed by a vowel mark.
Bugs and quirks[edit | edit source]
- Installing new languages, keyboards and speech packs on this build may cause the download to get stuck. Existing ones will carry over.
- Devices with 8GB of internal memory will likely receive an
0x800700b7(ERROR_ALREADY_EXISTS) error when attempting to update to this build. - Notifications related to the system do not work.
- The automatic reboot to install this build never happens, so the user needs to restart their device manually to install it.
