Visual Studio 2012 build 50522 is the official Release Candidate build of Visual Studio 2012, released alongside Windows 8 Release Preview on 31 May 2012. This build introduces a major UI redesign and improvements and enhancements to its components.

Setup[edit | edit source]
This build updates the setup design to resemble the RTM build. It also reintroduces installation customization.
UI Changes[edit | edit source]
This build updates the UI to make it resemble the RTM build, which involves creating a custom window chrome where the title bar would reside in. More UI changes include the All-Caps menus, updated icons and colors that give the product "more energy", and an updated dark theme. The product icon has been updated to its final version.
These changes are also carried over to the Help Viewer.
Tailored Simulator[edit | edit source]
This build adds screenshot options to the tailored simulator, and allows putting its window always on top.
