Windows 10 Mobile build 14260 is a pre-release build of Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary Update, which was released to beta testers via the Windows Update servers as a delta for build 14259.[1]
This build includes a number of updates to Windows 10 Mobile applications.
New features and changes (PLACEHOLDERS)[edit | edit source]
These sentences are merely placeholders and serve a purpose so i don't forget all the changes present in the build. They are absolutely not finished, so yeah.
Alarms & Clock[edit | edit source]
The "Repeats" and "Sound" popup menus, which are present when adding an alarm, now feature a gray border around them, which distinguishes them from the main app content.
The app's UI content now extends fully upwards, resulting in the notification bar now being gray rather than black, to match with the top bar color.
Calculator[edit | edit source]
The result of a very long equation is no longer fully shown on screen, requiring the user to instead scroll to see the full answer. This was likely done for accessibility purposes. Due to this, inserting numbers via the character limits will now cause the previous characters to move off to the side, instead of shrinking the entire equation itself.
Messaging[edit | edit source]
The search bar used while searching in conversations has had a major design overhaul. The search bar itself received a blue border, along with the search button now being white instead of blue to match the design. The keyboard now starts capitalized instead of lower cased, and the Search your conversations text is now faded away. An "x" button is also present, which allows the user to erase all the text in the search bar with one click.
Insider Hub[edit | edit source]
Due to the closing insider build aka build 14267 (find better wording pls), This build reintroduces the Insider Hub.
Outlook Calendar[edit | edit source]
The Month and Year text used in the header of the app is now colored in blue, rather than white.
A new "More calendars" button has been added to the sandwich menu, which opens up a menu with the text "Holiday calendars". Unfortunately, due to the servers no longer being available, the menu does not load.
Alongside the Day, Week and Month view options, the Calendar can now be sorted via the current Year.
Alternative calendars have been added, and are present in Calendar Settings. They allow the user to switch between different calendars. --elabore on this further later--
A what's new option has been added in Settings, which opens a Microsoft Edge webpage.
Outlook Mail[edit | edit source]
The Link inboxes dialog has been moved down to no longer clash with the notification bar.
Selecting an account in any of the Settings options will now turn the option fully gray, rather than turning the down character gray instead.
The converstation option has been moved to Signature.
Along with the Outlook Calendar app, a What's New option has been added, which opens a Microsoft Edge webpage.
The default signature is now "Sent from my Windows 10 phone" rather than "Sent from Outlook Mail for Windows 10 phone".
Holding down on a draft or e-mail will now reveal a Find option, which serves the same function as the Search feature.
A quick intro about the notifications setting has been added.
Phone[edit | edit source]
The Phone application has been updated from version 2.13.18001.0 to version 2.13.24001.0. Despite this however, no noticeable visual differences are present.
Voice Recorder[edit | edit source]
The icon present on the splash screen has been made bigger.
If no recordings are present on the device, "No recordings found" will now appear in the top left corner of the app's UI.
The ring present around the stop button when recording is now a decibel meter, and gradually changes in size depending on the decibel count.
The ability to search for recordings has been added.
