Mac System Software 1.0 Finder 0.97 is a build of Mac System Software 1.x, which was officially released on 24 January 1984 with the Macintosh 128K. There was an earlier version which had a Finder version of 0.85. Confusingly, Apple mislabeled Mac System Software 3.2 as 1.0 in the Apple Developer CD, which sparked unintended spread of misinformation later on.

This version introduced many into several GUI elements, some borrowed from the Xerox Alto, some from Lisa.

According to Andy Hertzfeld, this version serves as essentially a public beta of System 1.[1]
