I may actually create these in the near future.

Level 1 warnings[edit | edit source]

Assume good faith[edit | edit source]

Information icon Welcome to BetaWiki. Editors are expected to treat each other with respect and civility. On this encyclopedia project, editors assume good faith when dealing with other editors. If you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you!

Biting a newcomer[edit | edit source]

Information icon I noticed that a message you recently left to a newcomer may have been unduly harsh. Please remember not to bite the newcomers. If you see others making a common mistake, consider politely pointing out what they did wrong and showing them how to correct it. It takes more time, but it helps us retain new editors. Thank you.

Original research[edit | edit source]

Information icon Welcome to BetaWiki. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits, it appears that you have added original research, which is against BetaWiki's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you.

Vandalism[edit | edit source]

Information icon Hello. I wanted to let you know that your recent contributions have been undone because they didn't appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox instead. If you think a mistake was made, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks.

Level 2 warnings[edit | edit source]

Assume good faith[edit | edit source]

Information icon Please remember to assume good faith when dealing with other editors. Thank you.

Original research[edit | edit source]

Information icon Please do not add original research or novel syntheses of published material to articles. Please cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you.

Vandalism[edit | edit source]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to BetaWiki. Your edits appear to be vandalism and have been reverted. If you only meant to make test edits, use the sandbox instead. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you.

Violating the 3-revert rule[edit | edit source]

Information icon Hello. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions. Please be aware that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reverts on a single page within a short period of time. Rather than reverting edits, please consider using the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. The dispute resolution processes may also help. Excessive reverting may result in the loss of editing privileges.

Level 3 warnings[edit | edit source]

Assume good faith[edit | edit source]

Warning icon Please stop assuming bad faith when dealing with other editors. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Assume that they are here to improve rather than harm BetaWiki.

Original research[edit | edit source]

Warning icon Please stop violating BetaWiki's no original research policy by adding your personal analysis or synthesis into articles. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing.

Vandalism[edit | edit source]

Warning icon Please stop vandalizing BetaWiki. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing.

Level 4 warnings[edit | edit source]

Original research[edit | edit source]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you violate BetaWiki's no original research policy by inserting unpublished information or your personal analysis into an article.

Vandalism[edit | edit source]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize BetaWiki.

Violating the 3-revert rule[edit | edit source]

Stop icon Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a short period of time. Undoing another editor's work, whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time, counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

Level 4im warnings[edit | edit source]

Vandalism[edit | edit source]

Stop icon This is your only warning; if you vandalize BetaWiki again, you may be blocked from editing without further notice.
