Template:Infobox Windows component/doc

Every page about a Windows component must contain the "Infobox Windows component" template, which provides essential information about a Windows component.

Usage

name

Required: The name of the component, for example PowerShell or Task Manager.

type

Required: The type of the component, such as "user interface" or "utility"

screenshot(1/2)

File name of a screenshot without the initial File: prefix

File name of a logo without the initial File: prefix

caption(1/2)

Caption to annotate screenshot(1/2).

Caption to annotate logo.

other names

Use when the component has multiple official names.

introduced in

Version or build of Windows that the component was introduced with. Use build number if the component was introduced and removed during the same development cycle iteration and was not included in the final release; otherwise, only mention the version.

last included in

Version or build of Windows that is the last to include the component if discontinued; see introduced in for more information.

included in

Use instead of introduced in and last included in if they would both refer to the same version or build; see introduced in for more information.

lrver

Used when the component uses its own versioning system. Normally, most components use the same version and build as the current Windows version and build. However, some components such as Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer uses its own versioning system.

replaces

Used when the component is intended to replace another component.

replaced by

Use for discontinued components. Specify a component that is intended to replace this component.
