Support end date question[edit source]
I actually noticed that Windows Server 2008 R2 still gets security monthly updates, either via Windows Update or manual download via the Microsoft Update Catalog, and I also get them on my ordinary Windows 7 installation that I patched (to report as 2008 R2 with BypassESU) to continue receiving updates. For every single one of these update methods, the updates show as being "for Windows Server 2008 R2 for x64-based Systems". So, is it acceptable to remove the support end date for the 4th year of Extended Security Updates for Azure customers, or it has to be left as-is since it is the officially declared date?
