Talk:Windows 11 build 22449

Clarification[edit source]

I've tried to install this build and it refused, many times. The first time it just hanged at the "updates are underway" screen so I force rebooted, it failed, then I tried again and let it take its time. It still failed. The result was dead explorer on .176. I am not dumb. I know how to check if an update installed or not. The fix on MS's blog didn't work. Also reverting to .168 didn't work. I can't even open Settings to reset the PC for instance. --AhmadB (talk) 17:06, 3 September 2021 (UTC)

EDIT: Yes, 10 seconds later, but I think MS's fix worked. I had to reboot several times though. I'm redownloading this and I'll report if it installs or not. --AhmadB (talk) 17:08, 3 September 2021 (UTC)
The bug affected 22449, 22000.168 and 176 and at the time I removed the bug, it seemed to have been a backend issue rather than an issue with the builds. Which is why I put in my edit summary Removed explorer bug for now. Will readd if it's confirmed to be the build itself as for the install bug, that appears to be unrelated to the same explorer bug as I have not seen a correlation between the two. I see. I guess I was just unlucky then. It hasn't finished installing yet (stuck at 76% currently) and even if it did, I won't be able to reboot until tomorrow as I'm running a workload at the moment. However, SystemSettings.exe randomly crashed with some error code earlier so I guess that's not very promising. --AhmadB (talk) 19:04, 3 September 2021 (UTC)
UPDATE: It still fails to install. Usual steps (such as deleting SoftwareDistribution) do not work. Picture. --93.126.194.241 09:14, 4 September 2021 (UTC)

About boot animation[edit source]

Interesting, it is possible to enable the old 8/8.1/10 style boot animation in 22449 or newer? User:91.213.33.105 (talk) 13:38, 16 November 2021 (UTC)
