SuSE Linux 7.0 is a version of openSUSE, released on 14 September 2000. It shipped with Linux kernel 2.2.16, KDE 1.1.2 and beta of 2.0, as well as GNOME 1.21.[5]

New features[6][edit | edit source]

  • Professional Edition was introduced, aiming at business environments. It includes ALICE (Automatic Linux Installation and Configuration Agent), to configure multiple machines faster.
  • The process of re-installing and uninstalling single packages in YaST2 was simplified.
  • It's the first Linux distribution that can be installed and used by visually impaired customers with Braille.
