Microsoft Office 2007 build 3417 is the official Beta 1 build of Microsoft Office 2007. It was compiled on 10 October 2005, before being released to beta testers on 16 November 2005.

Product key and EULA pages have been added to setup.
General[edit | edit source]
Metal-styled UI[edit | edit source]
- Minor design tweaks and adjustments were made to UI elements.
- The file menu has been redesigned, now featuring a layout similar to that found in the final product.
- Items will now be centered on the large Quick Access Toolbar.
- The Floatie is now referred to as the MiniBar.
Default font[edit | edit source]
This is the first build that uses Calibri as the default font across all applications.
Branding[edit | edit source]
All strings referencing Office 2006 have been removed.
Application specific[edit | edit source]
Outlook[edit | edit source]
- The interface for creating a new contact has been updated to use the Metal-styled UI.
- A close button has been added to the To-Do Bar.
Excel[edit | edit source]
Excel documents no longer use the Page Layout view by default.

Outlook[edit | edit source]
Outlook may fail to load, and will result in either the app crashing or freezing upon launch.
