OS/2 2.00 build 6F.167 is a beta build of OS/2 2.0, which was distributed in October 1991 at the Fall Comdex.[1] This build is often mistakenly referred to as the "Limited Availability" release of OS/2 2.0; the actual LA release is build 6H.177.

Bugs and quirks[edit | edit source]

Opening DOS will crash the entire system. The DOS Window program will make the entire system crash while the DOS Full Screen will just freeze the entire system. Trying to open Win OS/2 will freeze the system.

New features and changes[edit | edit source]

  • This build replaces the Desktop Manager with the new object-oriented Workplace Shell that resembles Windows 3.1x.
  • This is the first build to include a graphical boot screen, though it is different than the final one.
