Microsoft Plus! 98 build 1700.2

Microsoft Plus! 98 build 1700.2 is the earliest available build of Microsoft Plus! 98. This build contains mostly differences in the themes. While some themes don't exist yet, there are two themes that never made it into the final product - Gourmet and Skateboard Kid. Also, unlike later builds, it allows to set a theme and run the Maintenance wizard before the computer is being restarted.

Differences between the RTM build and this build[edit | edit source]

  • Geometry, Cityscape, PhotoDisc and Rock-n-Roll themes don't exist yet.
  • Cathy, Doonesbury, Foxtrot, Garfield, Windows 98 (high color) and World Traveller themes have different backgrounds.
  • The Fashion theme has darker toned icons, which are brighter in the RTM.
  • Architecture, Falling Leaves, Fashion, Horror Channel, Jazz and Science Fiction themes have different window title fonts.
