Mac System Software 1.0 1983-08-08 build is a build of Mac System Software 1.x.
New features and changes[edit | edit source]
- Replaced the Flounder user interface with the Finder. The Finder identifies itself as Finder 1.6 in this build. Just like earlier builds, it uses the
@symbol in place of the Apple logo. - This build contains a prototype of "MacPaint" dated 1983-08-16, and is version 0.5.
- The "Special" menu is called "Arrange" in this build. There are options in the "Arrange" menu which did not persist into the final build.
- The Key Caps desktop accessory is called KeyBoard.
Findings[edit | edit source]
- Drag & Drop has not been implemented yet, same for moving files on the desktop and renaming them. The user needs to use the "Interim" menu to rename files.
Bugs and quirks[edit | edit source]
- There is a strange "Anonymous" disk on the desktop which has no files or folders in it.
